Robert 'Bob' Kohr

Robert "Bob" Kohr, 66, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 2 a.m. at his home.

Mr. Kohr was a lifelong resident of Huntington County. He retired from United REMC after 40 years as a staking engineer. He also was employed at Shafer Farms. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1966 to 1967.

Mr. Kohr was a member of the Sheets Museum board of directors at the time of opening until January 2013. He also was a member of Ducks Unlimited, National Rifle Association, Fraternal Order of Police, Moose Lodge 837, Ageless Iron Tractor Club, life member of VFW Post 2689, National Wild Turkey Federation and the NWTF committee member of the Flint Springs Chapter.

He was born July 2, 1946, in Huntington to Ted and Mary Esther Garretson Kohr. His mother survives in Huntington. He married Karen L. Till on Feb. 10, 1968. His wife also survives.

Additional survivors are two daughters, Rachel (John) Nelson and Amanda (Ryan) Martin, both of Roanoke; a brother, Max (Pauline) Kohr, of Deerfield, MI; two sisters, JoAnn White, of Huntington, and Cindy (Jay) Martz, of Andrews; and nine grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, April 9, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the PAL Club (Police Athletic League), 2099 Riverside Drive, Huntington. Additional calling will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, for one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service at the PAL Club.
Rev. Steven L. McPeek and Steve Nevius will preside. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
