Joan L. Thompson, 82, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 5:47 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Thompson was a 1948 graduate of Warren High School. She had been employed by E-Systems/Memcor for 30 years and by the United Methodist Memorial Home for 30 years. She was a member of the Warren Methodist Church, American Legion Post 85 in Huntington, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689 in Huntington, Order of the Eastern Star and Women of the Moose Chapter 255 of Lodge 837, Huntington.
She was born June 16, 1930, in Wells County to Clarence and Mildred Baker Lantis. She married Gene A. Thompson on June 19, 1948, in Grant County. Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Wiegman, of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Julie (Brent) Thompson Bowman, Jamie Thompson, Tricia (Darren) Wiegman Dunbar and Chad (Caty) Wiegman; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Calling is Sunday, April 14, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 15, 2013, at 10 a.m.
