Sister Carmela Farley, OLVM, 89, a resident of Victory Noll in Huntington, IN, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll.
She entered the congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Oct. 30, 1947, and made first vows on Aug. 5, 1950. She served in missions in California, Iowa, Arizona and at Victory Noll. She returned to Victory Noll in 1997 to work in the print shop and as a proofreader until retiring in 2008.
She was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Honolulu, HI, to John and Ruth Beban Farley.
A vigil service will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at 7 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated in the chapel on Monday, April 15, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to Mass. Rev. Thomas Fahey will officiate. Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery, Huntington.
