Mark D. Merriman, 84, of Fort Wayne, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Friday, April, 19, 2013.
Mr. Merriman had been employed by the Zollner Corporation and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Summit City Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shrine.
He was born Jan. 13, 1929, to Arthur and Mildred Merriman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Merriman, in 2011.
Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda (Jim) Polka; two sons, Nils M. Merriman and Kent P. Merriman; a sister, Janet Merriman; eight grandchildren, Glen, Rachel, Jamie, Kayla, Cody, Stacy, Connor, Delaney; and eight great-grandchildren.
Calling is Tuesday, April 23, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. Summit City Masonic Lodge 170 will conduct a service Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at noon, with calling two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association or Calvary United Methodist Church.
