Erma Marybelle Barnes, 91, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 3:59 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Barnes graduated from Huntington High School in 1939. She was employed by Our Sunday Visitor from 1946 to 1953. She was a member of St. Peter's First Community Church and the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689.
She was born Sept. 19, 1921, in Huntington to Earl and Erma Vollmar Gephart. She married John Richard Barnes on Oct. 25, 1952, and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1972.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Barnes, of Huntington; two daughters, Mary (Mark) Houser, of Columbia City, and Judith Graf, of Fort Wayne; a sister, Carolyn Knop, of Huntington; and two grandchildren, Tiffany Graf and Cassandra Graf.
Calling is Friday, April 26, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Raymond Scribner officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's First Cemetery, Huntington.
