DeWayne L. Fitch

DeWayne L. Fitch, 78, of North Manchester, IN, and a native of Huntington County, IN, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 8:31 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Fitch was employed by Con-Agra Fertilizer, in Huntington, for 27 years, serving as manager for two years. He later worked as a salesman at Wible's Shoe Store, North Manchester, for four years. He was a crossing guard for Manchester Community Schools from 1997 to 2007 and a custodian for Congregational Christian Church from 1999 to 2006.
He was a 1952 graduate of Andrews High School and a former member of I.O.O.F., in Andrews. He was a member of Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester.
He was born April 26, 1934, in Polk Township, Huntington County, to Carl L. and Berneice M. Garber Fitch. He married Bette L. Rosen Bechtold on June 15, 1979, and she survives.
Additional survivors include three sons, Timothy L. (Cindy) Fitch, of Warren; Edwin J. (Lori) Fitch, of Urbana; and Bret J. (Michelle) Bechtold, of North Manchester; three daughters, Pamela S. Taylor, of Indianapolis, and Jane E. (Michael) Clark and Beth R. (David) Wampler, both of North Manchester; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Friday, April 26, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind-114 West, North Manchester. A service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut St., North Manchester. Rev. J.P. Freeman and Rev. Sebrena Cline will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
