Roy E. Hasty, 84, of Fort Wayne, IN, and a native of Huntington County, IN, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Hasty worked as an assembler at Dana for 42 years, retiring in 1992. He had also farmed and installed siding for homes.
He was the son of Fred and Ella Hasty. His wife of 42 years, Doris Hasty, preceded him in death in 1992.
Survivors include a son, David Hasty, of Fort Wayne; three daughters, Linda L. (Steve) Weaver, of Columbia City; Toni K.(James) Belaschky, of Terre Haute; and Stephania A. (Roger) Schaefer, of Harlan; a brother, Dewey Hasty, of Fort Wayne; a sister, Ruth McVoy, of Huntington; 10 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a companion, Arnetta Hunnicutt, of Huntington.
Calling is Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Larry Schmoekel officiating. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
