Rev. Gary B. Riley, 48, of Gas City, IN, and having ties to Huntington County, IN, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his home.
Rev. Riley graduated from Marion High School in 1983 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Christian ministries in 1987 from Indiana Wesleyan University. He was ordained as a Wesleyan minister and served as pastor of the Mt. Etna Wesleyan Church, Fowlerton Wesleyan Church and Southside Wesleyan Church of Gas City, where he was currently serving. He had also served as pastor of Banquo Christian Church for 12 years. Rev. Riley also served as a substitute bus driver and bus aide for the Mississinewa Community Schools and as a psychiatric technician for Grant-Blackford Mental Health.
He was born April 3, 1965, in Cheyenne, WY, to John B. and Wanda M. Roe Riley. He married Susan Elliott on June 7, 1986, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Joe Riley, of Renton, WA, and Benji Riley, of Gas City; a daughter, Beth Riley, of Gas City; a sister, Connie (Amine) Ayad, of Canton, MI; and two brothers, Bob (Julie) Riley, of LaPorte, and John (Susie) Riley, of Papillion, NE.
Calling is Monday, May 20, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. main St., Gas City. A service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at 1 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Banquo Christian Church, 8937S-900W-35, LaFontaine. Dr. Aron Willis, Rev. Doug Sharrard and Rev. Brad Kellly will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.
