Betty J. Wilson, 84, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having family members in Roanoke, IN, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Kingston Care Center, in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Wilson graduated from Van Wert (OH) High School in 1946 and worked as a teacher's aide at Hoagland and Fairfield elementary schools for 25 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Harvester Avenue Missionary Church, a past president and member of the PTA and a member of the residents' council at Kingston Care Center.
She was the daughter of Glenn C. and Lela Siders. She married Lee M. Wilson Sr. on July 4, 1947, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Lee Michael (Paulette) Wilson Jr., of Fort Wayne, and Mark A. (Meg) Wilson, of Huntertown; a daughter, Linda D. (Paul F. Gebert Sr.) Ropa Gebert, of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Wesley Ropa, Michelle Ropa and Kyle (Christina) Wilson, all of Fort Wayne; a stepgrandson, Chip (Tina) Gebert Jr., of Fort Wayne; seven great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-granddaughter.
A service was held on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, with Chaplain K.C. Klarner officiating. Burial was at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
