Virginia L. Ruyle

Virginia L. Ruyle, 89, of Defiance, OH, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at her home.
Mrs. Ruyle graduated from Huntington High School in 1942. She had been employed by the Metropolitan Bank of Lima for many years before moving to Defiance in 1995. She had volunteered at Lima Memorial Hospital and Defiance Regional Hospital. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Church Women United and the 13 Club of Defiance.
She was born March 7, 1924, in Huntington to J. Edward and Dessie Smith Snyder. She married C. Robert Ruyle on April 28, 1946, and he preceded her in death in 1996.
Survivors include two sons, Steve (Terri) Ruyle, of Defiance, OH, and Philip (Renee) Ruyle, of Whitehouse, OH; two daughters, Lynne (John) Humkey, of Midway, KY, and Bobbie (Mike) Ruyle Malady, of Tempe, AZ; a sister, Mary Snyder, of Huntington; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Calling is Friday, June 28, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home, 329 Jefferson St., Defiance, OH. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 29, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Joe Graves officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
