Norman A. Gray, 96, of Crooked Lake, IN, and having ties to Huntington, IN, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at 4:48 p.m. at Mason Health and Rehabilitation, Warsaw, where he had been a resident since August 2012.
Mr. Gray graduated from Huntington High School in 1935. On April 12, 1944, he entered the United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged Dec. 17, 1945. He was bricklayer for 50 years and member of International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman, local No.2, Fort Wayne.
He and his wife made their home in Huntington until 1972 when they move to Crooked Lake.
He was born April 18, 1917, in Crawfordsville to Albert and Myrtle Harwood Gray. He married Rosemary M. Horrell on March 25, 1939. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2011.
Surviving are three daughters, Judith (Ronald) Freel, of Cromwell; Norma Erdly, of Ligonier; and Lois (Michael) Noel, of Columbia City; a son, Dennis Gray, of Silver Lake; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
A graveside service with be held Sunday, July 7, 2013, at 2 pm. at the Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.
