James L. Sellers

James L. Sellers, 71, of Akron, IN, and having family members in Roanoke, IN, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
Mr. Sellers served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1969. He was a staff sergeant in the 701st Mountain Battalion 1st Infantry Division
He worked for Pierceton Trucking, in Laketon, for 20 years and retired from G&S Trucking, in Wabash. He later worked for Steve Wagner Farms. He was a former volunteer with the Atwood Fire Department and a member of the Kosciusko County Fireman's Association.
He was born July 2, 1941, in Warsaw to James and Janice Shand Sellers.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Baker, of Silver Lake, and Tona Walter, of South Whitley; a son, Rodney Sellers, of Akron; two sisters, Patricia Craig, of Warsaw, and Myrtle Leota Dennis, of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Janessa, Teri and Marc; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, on Saturday, July 6, 2013, , with Rev. Howard Immel officiating. Burial was at the Legion Circle of Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1196, Warsaw.
