Helen Lois Pio, 93, of Kendallville, IN, and formerly of Huntngton, IN, died Friday, July 19, 2013, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.
Mrs. Pio graduated from Clear Creek High School in Huntington in 1939. She was a homemaker, and a member of Order Of Eastern Star, 514 Star Of The East in Ossian.
She was born in Huntington on May 10, 1920, to John William and Ida Josephine Ferguson Lockhart. She married Charles Deam on March 10, 1943, in Huntington. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1975.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth E. (Jan) Deam, of Wolcottville; two daughters, Carol Ann (Gary) Wymer, of Avilla, and Janet Sue Schocke, of Kendallville; six grandchildren, Angela Toles, Kristin Gantz, Nathan Deam, Natalie Batten, Bruce Schocke and Robert Schocke; two
step-grandchildren, Nathan Wymer and Leslie Peel; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home, 403 S. Main St., Kendallville. A funeral service will be Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Thomas Clothier officiating. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ossian.
