Robert E. Pollock, 82, of Huntington, IN, died July 20, 2013, at 9:10 a.m. at his home. .
Mr. Pollock graduated from Huntington High School. He served in the United States Army in Austria during the Korean War in the photography unit. He retired in 1996 from Central Elementary School, where he served as a crossing guard and custodian for more than 40 years.
Mr. Pollock was born March 24, 1931, in Huntington to Walter E. and Ruth Barton Pollock. He married Patricia Jean Kimmel on April 24, 1954, in Huntington. His wife preceded him in death on Aug. 27, 2009.
Surviving is one son, Michael (Noreen) Pollock, of Fishers; five daughters, Cynthia Klepper, of Huntington; Lori (Ernst) Becker, of Weiterstadt, Germany; Susan (Lloyd) Dobson, of Flower Mound, TX; Sandra (Eric) Clark, of Anderson; and Teresa (Andy) Minton, of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren, Jessica Thornton, Katie Klepper, Emily Klepper, Christopher Clark, Colin Clark, Ashley Minton, Hannah Minton, Katie Minton, Benjamin Minton, Holden Pollock and Kolja Becker; and eight great-grandchildren.
Calling is Monday, July 22, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Additional calling will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington, with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. Rev. Ron Rieder, OFM Cap, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
Preferred memorials may be made to the Huntington Catholic School Scholarship Fund in memory of Robert Pollock and Dennis Klepper. The memorials can be made in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
