Martha JoAnn Buzzard, 85, of Warren, IN, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at 1:42 a.m. at Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton, IN.
Mrs. Buzzard was a 1946 graduate of Jackson High School and a 1971 graduate of Tucker Career Center in Marion, from where she received her degree as an LPN. She had worked for Dr. P.C. Matthews, Huntington Hospital, Huntington Nursing Home, Norwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, Markle Health Care, Memcor and Cady's Express in Warren. She was a member of the Red Hatters Club in Warren and the Christ the King Episcopal Church in Huntington.
She was born March 24, 1928, in Jackson Township, Wells County, to John & Edna Zent Shoemaker. She married Jack Buzzard on Nov. 4, 1947 in Warren. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include six daughters, Linda (Gale) Evrard and Jean (Max) Barton, both of Warren; Laura Buzzard and Shelley (Jim Powers) Brooks, both of Huntington; Jan (Jan) Tinkle, of Marion; and Mary K. ( Paul) Thompson, of Greencastle; four sons, Steven (Leeann) Buzzard, Brian Buzzard and Jay (Tara) Buzzard, all of Warren, and Larry (Rise) Buzzard, of Huntington; 17 grandchildren, Michael Ancil, Marc Ancil, Matt Buzzard, Jenny Akerstrom, Whitney Buzzard, Ashley Tinkle, Andy Tinkle, David Gordon, Tony Gordon, Nikki Gordon, Kari Moore, Joel Buzzard, Drew Buzzard, Hope Buzzard, Jayson Buzzard, Lacey Couch and Dillon Couch; and 13 great-grandchildren.
There will be private viewing hours and a graveside service for family only. Interment will be in the Gardens of Memory in Marion.
Arrangements are being handled by Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Warren.
