Sarah E. Edwards, 82, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at her home.
Mrs. Edward was a homemaker and pastor's wife, serving as a foster parent to 21 children over 15 years. She graduated from Picadome High School, in Lexington, KY, in 1947. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Huntington.
She was born Sept. 23, 1930, in Lexington, KY, to Willis R. and Earlena Harp Barron. She married Rev. Donald K. Edwards on Nov. 6, 1948, in Birmingham, AL. Her husband preceded her in death on May 23, 2004.
Survivors include two sons, David Allen Edwards and Timothy Joe Edwards, both of Terre Haute; four daughters, Donna Lee (Dennis) Matherly, of Springfield, IL; Rebecca Ellen (Steve) Zenor and Julie Ann (Keith) Price, both of Terre Haute; and Beth Ann (Randy) Dubois, of Huntington; three brothers, Buck Barron, Ernie Barron and Bernie Barron, all of Lexington, KY; a sister, Frances Kirby, of Lexington, KY; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, with Rev. Randy Dubois officiating. Interment will be at the Lancaster Cemetery, in Lancaster.
