John Lapunka

John Lapunka, 90, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having ties to Roanoke, IN, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013.

Mr. Lapunka was founder and CEO of Financial Advisory Clinic and worked for Equitable Life Assurance Co. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke, and had been a member of the Anthony Wayne Rotary Club for more than 50 years. He was a World War II Army veteran.

He was born Dec. 13, 1922, in Cleveland, OH, to Wasyl and Mary Lapunka. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Lapunka, in 1983.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary (Joe) Sutton, Martha (David) Guthrie and Caitie (Jerry) Linger; a sister, Ann Bair; seven grandchildren, Chris (Jason) Howey, Brooke (Joe) Stanley, Anna Kirsten (Matt) Owens, Becka (Tarik) Pellerin, Nina Linger, Noah Linger and Kit Linger; and three great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to Mass, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main St., Roanoke. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Roanoke.
