Marian J. Hughes, 91, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Renaissance Village, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Hughes owned The Drapery Shop, in Marion, for several years, and was named Woman of the Year by the American Business Women's Association. She was a member of Banquo Christian Church.
She was born Oct. 29, 1921, in Cass County to John W. and La Vinna Vernon Harvey. She married Lon W. Hughes, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Pat L. DeHaven, of Fort Wayne; Lois B. Hughes, of Indianapolis; and Jeanie K. (Kendall) Jagger and Janie K. (Randy) Hearld, both of Columbia City; two sons, Mike W. Hughes and Kenneth L. Hughes, both of Huntington; a sister, Freida Hoffman, of Bloomington; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service following at 1 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. Rev. Ray Scribner will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary.
