Richard E. Barger, 80, of Craigville, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at 10:35 a.m. a Ossian health Care.
Mr. Barger attended Lancaster High School and Sonlight Wesleyan Church. He was a farmer and had worked at Wayne Metal Co. for 26 years.
He was born Aug. 1, 1933, in Wells County to Orville and Edith C. Bauman Barger. He married Marjorie M. Bower Wine on July 24, 1978, in Bluffton, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Jeff L. Barger and Richie E. Barger Jr., both of Decatur; three stepchildren, Sherry L. (Fred) James, of Huntington; Teri (Rick) Wilson, of Gainesville, FL; and Kerrie (Steve) Johnson, of Redkey; two siblings, Virgean Bowers, of Decatur, and Mildred Riley, of Monroe; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A service was held on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Sonlight Wesleyan Church, with Lyle Breeding officiating. Burial was at Six Mile Cemetery, in Bluffton.
Memorial gifts may be made to Sonlight Wesleyan Church.
Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel, Bluffton, was in charge of arrangements.
