Carol J. Hurt, 72, of Bluffton, IN, and having relatives in Huntington County, IN, died Aug. 28, 2013, at Meadowvale Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Sept. 11, 1940, in Happy, KY, to Fred D. Sr. and Polly Combs Burns. She married Junior Hurt on July 6, 1957, in DeKalb County. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1989.
Mrs. Hurt worked as a home health care nurse for more than 20 years. She also worked in production at Franklin Electric and Kitco. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Bluffton.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Nunley, of Bluffton; four brothers, Phillip Burns, of Georgia; Adrian Burns, of Linn Grove; Denver Burns, of Petroleum; and Danny Burns, of Warren; seven sisters, Paula McCullum, of Keystone; Joyce Morgan, of Pennville; Mary Raugh, of Geneva; Christine Eisenhut and Eunice West, both of Bluffton; Charlene Gobernatz, of Markle; and Cora Meadows, of Virginia; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home, Bluffton, with Rev. Flint Redwine officiating. Burial was at Elm Grove Cemetery.
