Marlene A. Williams, 79, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at 6:19 a.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital, Huntington.
Mrs. Williams was a 1952 graduate of Huntington High School. She Williams worked as a telephone operator, and she also worked as a nurse's aide for Huntington Memorial Hospital and Miller's Merry Manor, both in Huntington. Mrs. Williams was the secretary at the Huntington County Sheriff's Department for 12 years. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Huntington.
She was born May 16, 1934, in Ironton, OH, to Robert F. and Irene Manis Riley. She married Robert A. Williams on June 18, 1952, in Huntington. He preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2001.
Survivors include a son, Steve A. (Linda) Williams, of Andrews; a daughter, Lori A. Williams, of Boulder, CO; a brother, George (Carol) Riley, of Huntington; three grandchildren, Sasha (Scott) Myers and Rob (Dee) Hosler, both of Huntington, and Keri Williams, of Montague, MI; eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Calling is Monday, Sept.23, 2013, from 10 a.m. to noon at Central Christian Church, 500 MacGahan St. Huntington. A funeral service will follow immediately after at the church, with Rev. Chris Hayden officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church Roof Fund or Parkview Home Healthcare and Hospice, in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington.
