John D. McGinnis, 85, of rural Wabash, IN, and a native of Huntington County, IN, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. at his home.
Mr. McGinnis was a truck driver and a farmer. He also cared for race horses. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1195, in Wabash.
He was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Huntington County to Theodore and Mary Matthews McGinnis.
Survivors include two sons, Roger "Butch" McGinnis, of Wabash, and Tim McGinnis, of North Manchester; three daughters, Cheryl (Robin) Roberts, Brenda Hurlock and Denise (Jim) Leep, all of Wabash; two sisters, Ruth (Leroy) Newman and Sandy Booth, both of Wabash; five grandchildren, Brad Roberts, of Huntington; Jennifer (Ben) Bailey, of Lagro; and Coty (Crystal) Leep, Jamie (Matt) Brane and Meagan Hurlock, all of Wabash; and three great-grandchildren.
Calling is Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at 10 a.m., with Guy Provance officiating. Burial will be at Center Grove Cemetery, Lincolnville.
