Robert Elliot, 89, of Roanoke, IN, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Elliot graduated from Roanoke High School. He was a farmer and had also worked at International Harvester, retiring after 26 years of service. He later worked at Scott's Foods at Coventry for 20 years.
He was a member of the Zanesville United Methodist Church, Ageless Iron Tractor Club, Roanoke Masonic Lodge F.&A.M. and the Shrine Antique Tractor Club. He rode with the Shriners Horse Patrol for 40 years.
He was born in Fort Wayne to Robert Lloyd Sr. and Thelma Rose Elliot.
Survivors include two daughters, Sally (John) Kleahn, of Roanoke, and Sara (Grahame) Page, of Huntington; two sons, Sam (Merry) Elliot, of Roanoke, and Stanford (Michelle) Elliot, of Huntington; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m., at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. A service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Zanesville United Methodist Church, 11811 N. Wayne St., Zanesville. Private burial will be at a later date.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
