Marian Frances Dawson, 96, of Warren, IN, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at 6:19 p.m. at Heritage Pointe, in Warren.
Mrs. Dawson, a graduate of Wadsworth (OH) High School, earned a Bachelor of Theology from Malone College, in Canton, OH; a Bachelor of Arts from Olivet Nazarene University, in Kankakee, IL; and a Master of Science in secondary education from Indiana University, Fort Wayne. She taught English and library science in junior and senior high schools.
She was born Oct. 24, 1916, in Akron, OH, to Robert George and Florence Elizabeth Diffenderfer Ream. She married Russell Edwin Dawson on Aug. 28, 1948. Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Russell (Linda) Dawson Jr., of Osceola, and Robert (Nancy) Dawson, of Vernon, CT; a daughter, Mary (Robert) Dockter, of Anchorage, AK; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Eaton, Russell Dawson III, David Dawson, Justin Dawson, Evan Dawson, Ashley Dawson, Ian Dawson, Crystal Dockter and Shawn Dockter; and seven great-grandchildren.
A service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, in Applegate Chapel at Heritage Pointe. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, in Rochester.
