Phylbert A. Stouder, 78, of Andrews, IN, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital, in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Stouder attended Monument City High School, where he played on the Greyhounds basketball team, and graduated in 1953 from Lancaster High School. He owned and operated Ditch-A-Way Construction, in Andrews, from 1959 until his retirement in 2007.
He was a member of the Huntington Church of the Nazarene, serving as a board member, Sunday school superintendent and choir member.
He was born Sept. 10, 1935, in Huntington to Wilbur and Marietta Oden Stouder. He married Naomi Beeching on April 20, 1956. His wife preceded him in death on May 20, 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Grant (Shelly) Stouder, of Huntington, and Eric (Julie) Stouder, of Andrews; two daughters, Kristina "Tina" Lewis, of Andrews, and Pamela (Richard) Eide, of Leawood, KS; a brother, Earl C. Stouder; a sister, Donella (Kenny) Rippy, of Upland; and six grandchildren.
Calling is Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Huntington Church of the Nazarene, 155 Flaxmill Rd., Huntington. A service will be held at the church on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at 3 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Keith White and Carol Rittenhouse will officiate. Private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Andrews.
