Joey M. "Dog" Jackson Sr., 58, of Markle, IN, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Jackson had worked in construction. He was a member of American Legion Post 7, where he organized the Legion Riders and served as director from 2009-2011. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Men's Auxiliary Post 2457, in New Haven, and Union Local 213.
He was born Oct. 3, 1955, in Marshall, AR, to S.T. and Wanda Rowland Jackson. His mother, Wanda Starks, survives in Indianapolis. He married Donna Counterman on July 8, 1984, at the New Haven Conservation Club, and she survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Cassie Jo Jackson, of Kansas City, KS; a son, Joey M. Jackson Jr., of Kansas City, KS; a brother-in-law, Randy (Lavell) Jackson, of Indianapolis; a daughter-in-law, Carriann Jackson, of Indianapolis; and eight grandchildren.
Calling is Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with a memorial service following at 5 p.m., at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle.
