Dorothy M. Chandler, 79, of Warren, IN, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at 2:26 a.m. at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Chandler was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Belleville, MI, and also attended Awakening Community Church, in Huntington.
She was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Sylacauga, AL, to Robert and Luttie Hutchens Short. She married Richard L. Chandler in 1950 in Alabama. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 2004.
Survivors include three daughters, Ann (Sam) Griffith, of Warren, Carolyn (Gary) Clemmons, of Clearwater, FL, and Linda Chandler, of Wayne, MI; two sons, John (Linda) Chandler, of Belleville, MI, and Jimmie Chandler, of Detroit, MI; three brothers, Aaron Short, of Montgomery, AL, Earl Short, of Ohio, and Robert Deagan, of California; five sisters, Francis Reynolds, of Raleigh, NC, Lorraine Robbins, of Georgia, Brenda Anderson, of Opp, AL, Kaye Woodard, of Equality, AL, and Cathy Williamson, of Alabama; 20 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a funeral service immediately following, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drve, Huntington. Rev. Jeff Carrell will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, MI, with Rev. Paul Bostwick officiating.
