David Larry Hitzfield, 52, of rural Fort Wayne, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013.
Mr. Hitzfield graduated from Homestead High School in 1979 and was a long-time employee of Hitzfield Excavating.
He was born March 24, 1961, in Huntington to Albert Larry and Mardelle Bear Hitzfield. His father survives. He married Becky Crawford on Dec. 15, 1979, in Huntington, and she survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Casey Hitzfield, of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Candice (Adam) Couch, of Huntington; a brother, Lee (Beth) Hitzfield, of Roanoke; a sister, Denise Hitzfield, of Huntsville, AL; and two grandchildren, Jason Couch and Chloe Couch, both of Huntington.
Calling is Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Monson Chapel, 12220 Lower Huntington Rd., Roanoke. A service will be held at the church on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Joe Heins officiating. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
