Jane Overholt, 88, of Plymouth, MI, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.
Mrs. Overholt was the valedictorian of the Class of 1942 of Huntington High School. She worked for Michigan Bell from 1942 to 1949. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Plymouth and served as an Adboard member. She was also a member and historian of the Women's Club of Plymouth, grant chairman of the Plymouth Community Fund, first lady of the Michigan District of Kiwanis and first lady of Kiwanis International.
She was born Dec. 30, 1924, in Huntington to Dean and Mayme Johnson. She married Gene Overholt on Aug. 27, 1944, and he survives.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Carole (William) Brooks, Barbara (Michael) Toth and Jodi (Howard) Ring; three grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Brooks, Kristin (Scott Schopieray) Brooks and Megan (Peter) Aurora; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church, in Plymouth, MI.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Plymouth Kiwanis Foundation for the Overholt Scholarship Fund.
