Melody Ann Henry, 56, of Wabash, IN, and having relatives in Huntington, IN, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at 11:52 a.m. at Miller's Merry Manor in Wabash.
Mrs. Henry was a 1975 graduate of Wabash High School. She worked at the Wabash Curb-a-teria for 11 years, and from 1986-2003 she worked in the lunch program for Wabash City Schools. She was a lifetime member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Henry served on the Wabash High School band boosters for several years. She played fastpitch softball for eight years and coached Community Service Soccer for eight years.
She was born Feb. 4, 1957, in Marion to Robert and Patricia Riley Russell. Her mother survives in Bradenton, FL. She married Patrick Henry in Wabash on Nov. 29, 1975. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Maren (Patrick) Henry-Kennedy, of Westerville, OH; a son, Matthew (Belinda Shock) Henry, of Huntington; four sisters, Peggie Cleveland, of Peru; Marcie Prior, of Columbus; MeShell (Allen) Wallen, of Kokomo; and Melicia Batts, of Bradenton, FL; and three grandchildren, Brendan Patrick Henry, of Huntington, and Harper KayAnn Kennedy and Hudson Paul Kennedy, both of Westerville.
Calling is Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Herb Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, Nov.6, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wabash Moose Lodge, 169 E. market St., Wabash.
