Robert J. Schumaker

Robert J. Schumaker, 78, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at The Heritage of Huntington.

Mr. Schumaker graduated from Chester Township High School, in North Manchester, in 1953. He served as a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Conrail as a conductor after 33 years of employment. He was a member of the Mizpah Temple, in Fort Wayne, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne.

He was born July 27, 1935, in Bippus to J. Earl and Gladys Mae Wagner Schumaker. He married M. Nadine Rudicel on March 18, 1985, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 1999.

Survivors include two brothers, James E. Schumaker, of Fort Wayne, and Tom Schumaker, of Highland Beach, FL; a stepson, Jack Rudicel, of Huntington; and seven stepgrandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington. Rev. Raymond Scribner will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, Huntington.
