Howard Schilling Jr., 80, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at 4:21 p.m. at Parkview Hospital, in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Schilling graduated in 1951 from Huntington Township High School. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Mt. Etna Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Mt. Etna United Methodist Church.
He was born March 3, 1933, in Huntington to Jacob Howard and Nova Rusher Schilling. He married Donna Richardson on Aug. 19, 1954, in Columba City, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Marilyn (Dale) Rumple, of Mt. Etna, and Lori (Bryan) Gass, of California; two brothers, Arden Schilling, of Huntington, and Paul Schilling, of Illinois; a son-in-law, John Etter, of Huntington; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association, both in care of Myers Funeral Home.
