Richard I. Simerson

Richard I. Simerson, 77, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at 10:35 a.m. at his home.
Mr. Simerson worked for General Motors in Janesville, WI, before transferring to the GM plant in Fort Wayne. He worked as a sanitary engineer for a total of 42 years between the two plants, retiring from the Fort Wayne plant in 2006.
He was born Oct. 11, 1936, in Edgerton, WI, to Wesley and Jennie Edwardson Simerson. He married Marjorie C. Coppernoll on May 11, 1985, in Edgerton, WI. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Debra Simerson, of Edgerton, WI, and Bonnie Anderson, of Quenemoa, KS; a son, Benjamin (Sally) Thiefs, of Ossian; a sister, Marilyn (Lloyd) Buskager, of Stoughton, WI; a sister-in-law, Gladys Anderson, of Boaz, WI; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
There are no calling hours or services. Burial will be at a later date in Edgerton, WI.
