Sister Carlota Baca, OLVM, 104, a resident of Victory Noll, in Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Victory Noll's Holy Family Health Care Center.
Sister Baca entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Oct. 28, 1928, and made first vows on April 4, 1932. She served in missions in New Mexico, Texas, California, Utah and Colorado. She retired from ministry in Santa Fe, NM, in 2003 and returned to Victory Noll.
She was born Jan. 5, 1909, in Pena Blanca, NM, to Esquipula and Isabelita Romero Baca.
A vigil service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at 7 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the chapel on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to Mass. Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery.
