Willa D. Schaaf

Willa Dean Schaaf, 74, of Wabash, IN, and having ties to Andrews, IN, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at 3:25 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Schaaf retired from Dana Corporation, in Andrews, where she had worked for 14 years. She was a member of the Wabash Free Will Baptist Church.

She was born May 24, 1939, in Paintsville, KY, to Brooksie Sr. and Maggie Wells Collins.

Survivors include three daughters, Michelle (Todd) Hollingshead, of Wabash; Lori (Bret) Wade, of Huntington; and Kristi (Joe) Barker, of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Stanley (Emma Ruth) Collins and David L. (Nila) Collins, both of Van Lear, KY; two sisters, Madelyn (Curtis) Mead, of Van Lear, KY, and Peggy Lou VanHoose, of Greenup, KY; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by the father of her children, Ned E. Schaaf.

Calling is Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., with Jeff Barker officiating. Burial will be at Falls Cemetery, Wabash.
