Spencer R. Fisher, 80, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at noon at Norwood Health and Rehabilitation, in Huntington.
Mr. Fisher graduated from Huntington Township High School in 1953 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had worked at General Electric for more than 25 years. He was a member of New Hope United Brethren Church, the American Legion Post in Columbia City and the GE Quarter Century Club.
He was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Huntington to Rollyn P. and Ola Mae Christ Fisher. He married Ellen Koughn on April 28, 1962, in Uniondale. His wife preceded him in death on Aug. 3, 2012.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Weaver and Riva (Roy) Todd, both of Huntington; a son, Daniel (Melody) Fisher, of Fort Wayne; a brother, Maynard Fisher, of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Calling is Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Rev. Ron Evans will officiate. Private interment will be at Gardens of Memory, in Huntington County.
