Clyde D. Winkler, 90, of Huntington, IN, died on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at 2:45 a.m. at Oakbrook Village, in Huntington.
Mr. Winkler graduated from Huntington High School in 1943. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed as a machine operator at Anaconda Wire and Cable Company in Marion, retiring after 29 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntington. He was also member of the American Legion Post 85 in Huntington and the VFW Post 2689 in Huntington.
He was born Feb. 13, 1923, in Huntington County to Horace and Sarah Schultz Winkler. He married Ada Joan Charles on Feb. 18, 1950, in Huntington. She preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2014.
Survivors include a son, David Joe Winkler, of Huntington; two sisters, Letha Rea, of Seattle, WA, and Ruby Hite, of Columbia City; and a stepbrother, Roy France, of Miami, FL.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. Burial will be held at a later date.
