John R. 'Johnny' Barger

John R. "Johnny" Barger, 86, of Decatur, IN, and having ties to Huntington County, IN, died Thrusday, Feb. 6, 2014, at 10:20 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Barger graduated from Lancaster Central in 1945. He farmed in Adams and Wells counties, retiring in 2010. He was a member of Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren and served the church as a trustee and an usher.
He was born June 14, 1927, in Wells County to Glen T. and Queenie Fiechter Barger. He married Barbara Louise Douglass on Aug. 19, 1951, at Jefferson Township Methodist Church, Huntington County. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Debi L. (Jon J.) Huskins, of Zionsville, and Kathy A. (Barry D.) Kolter, of rural Decatur; a son, John Max (Edwin Rosario) Barger, of Arlington, VA; a sister, Carol N. (Doyle) Stern, of Bluffton; a sister-in-law, Cora Barger; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Calling is Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. A service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren.
