Frances S. Keeling

Frances Suzanna Keeling, 97, a resident of Heritage Pointe, in Warren, IN, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Heritage Pointe.
A former resident of Gas City, Mrs. Keeling had worked as a receptionist in a doctor's office for 10 years and owned Powder Puff Grooming for 12 years. She was a charter member of the Marion Philharmonic, where she played trombone, and had been a member of the Easter Pageant orchestra for 30 years. She was a member of First Friends Church of Marion and taught Sunday school at the church.
She was born Sept. 21, 1916, in Marion to Byron Woodford and Mabel E. Gillette Baxter. She married Delmar E. Barnes, and he preceded her in death. She then married John Keeling, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Pelfrey, of Gas City; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Amster, of Buena Vista, CO; three grandchildren, Wesley (Teressa) Brubaker, Frank (Julie) Barnes and Angela (Ty) Abshear; and eight great-grandchildren.
A service was held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, Gas City. Rev. Bob Garra officiated. Burial will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery.
