Donald M. 'Mitch' Sorrell

Donald M. "Mitch" Sorrell, 56, of rural Roann, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at 12:23 a.m. at his home.
Mr. Sorrell was a 1975 graduate of Northfield High School. He was employed by Ford Meter Box, in Wabash, as a foundry lab technician for 37 years and served with the Wabash County Sheriff Reserve for 16 years. He was a member of Bachelor Creek Church of God, serving as drummer on the worship team. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the North American Hunting Club and Buckmasters.
He was born April 30, 1957, in Wabash to Mearl "Chum" and Wilma Little Sorrell. His mother survives in Roann. He marred Paula L. Trainor on Dec. 27, 1986, in Peru, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Brady (Adel) Sorrell, of Huntington, and Codie Lyn Sorrell, of Roann; two sisters, Diana (Dave) Ditton, of Roann, and Shawnee (Daryl) Drake, of Farmersburg; and a granddaughter, Maddie Sorrell, of Huntington.
Calling is Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A service will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at 2 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Bachelor Creek Church of Christ, 2147 N. Ind.-15, Wabash. Michael Eaton will officiate.
