Juanita June Winters, 90, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at 4:25 p.m. at Heritage Pointe, in Warren.
Mrs. Winters graduated from Alexandria High School in 1942. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Huntington College in 1966 and a Master of Arts from Northwestern University in 1971. She was director of Christian education for United Methodist churches in Columbia City and Findlay, OH, for eight years and worked at College Park United Brethren Church, in Huntington, for five years. She retired in 1988.
She was born Feb. 12, 1924, in Muncie to Earl and Nellie Marie Gibson Oliver.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Lee Middleton, of Indianapolis; three sons, Ted William (Towana) Winters, of Huntington; Tim (Lynn) Winters, of Warren; and Tom (Glenna) Winters, of Mt. Pleasant, TN; a sister, Olive Katherine Truesdale, of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Calling is Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a service following at noon, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. Bruce Winters will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.
