Gaylord E. Beerbower

Gaylord E. Beerbower, 92, of Decatur, IN, and a native of Warren, IN, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Adams Woodcrest Nursing Center, in Decatur.
Mr. Beerbower worked as a conductor with the Pennsylvania Railroad for 41 years, retiring in 1982. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a paratrooper in the South Pacific and Europe. He was a member of Mizpah Shrine, in Fort Wayne, for more than 60 years.
He was born June 6, 1921, in Warren to Chester H. and Hazel Logan Beerbower. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita H. Beerbower.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Logan, of Dallas, TX; Sue Stiebling, of Fort Wayne; and Barbara J. Durnell, of Huntertown; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great-grandchildren.
A service was held on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Rev. Mike Wertenberger officiated. Burial was at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
