Kenneth Wayne Mote, 76, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, March 10, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital, in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Mote served in the United Sates Army during the Vietnam era and was a member of American Legion Post 85 and Disabled American Veterans. He retired from Kmart after 37 years of service as a warehouse forklift driver.
He was born in Huntington to Leander and Dorothy Mote. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruth Ann Mote.
Additional survivors include a son, Steven (Susan) Mote, of Huntington; a daughter, Sally (Kent) Burkhead, of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren, Justin, Josh, Brock, Brenden, Emily, Katie, Paige and Kent; and three great-grandsons.
Calling is Friday, March 14, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 15 2014, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
