P. Sherlene Sands, 59, of Nashville, AR, and having family members in Warren, IN, died Monday, March 10, 2014, at her home.
Mrs. Sands was the chief district court clerk for Howard County for more than 12 years. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and Elberta Chapter 538 Order of the Eastern Star, both in Nashville, AR.
She was born July 19, 1954, in Dequeen, AR, to Kelsie Elwood and Alma Fern Flemens Jester. She was married for 33 years to Gary Sands, who survives in Nashville, AR.
Additional survivors include four sons, Jamie E. Sands, of New Hope, AR; Scott G. Sands, of Fort Wayne; Brian P. Sands, of West Lafayette; and Gregory V. Sands, of Nashville, AR; a daughter, Tiffanie Stephens, of Nashville, AR; three brothers, Jeffrey Jester, of New Hope, AR; Mike Ford, of Elkhart; and Chad Shake, of Warren; three sisters, Gwen Peters, Mondi Hill and Carrie Hill, all of New Hope, AR; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Calling is Wednesday, March 12, 2014, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Nashville Funeral Home, in Nashville, AR. A service will be held on Thursday, March, 13, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, in Nashville, AR, with Brian Hill and Scott Feemster officiating. Interment will be at County Line Cemetery.
