Ellis Hartman, 81, of Hoffman Lake, Warsaw, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Monday, March 10, 2014, at 7 a.m. at Mason Health Care and Rehabilitation, in Warsaw.
Mr. Hartman worked as a truck driver for Hulls Transfer for many years and retired from Mike Gill's Auto Parts. He was a shooting instructor for the 4-H program for many years. He was a member of American Legion Post 258, in Pierceton, and the National Rifle Association.
He was born Feb. 28, 1933, in Kosciusko County to Harold and Pauline Harmon Hartman.
Survivors include four daughters, Pattie (Mike) Laney, of South Bend; Sue (Russ) Woodcock and Julie (Rodney) Shilling, both of Warsaw; and Jackie Gilfillian. of Minnetonka, MN; a sister Dori (Larry) Hale, of Middletown; a brother, Thomas (Pat) Hartman, of Warsaw; seven grandchildren, Jacob Neukam and Kaleb Neukam, both of South Bend; Renee Stahl, Elizabeth Shilling and Kaytie Shilling, all of Warsaw; Sean Woods, of Huntington; and Vickie (Dr. Mosi) Bennett, of Minnesota; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a companion, Jane Rife, of Atwood.
Calling is Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, in Warsaw.
