Paul R. Young, 88, of Ossian, IN, and having local relatives, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Coventry Meadows, Fort Wayne, after an extended illness.
Mr. Young graduated from Lafayette Central in 1943 He farmed for 63 years and drove a Southwest Allen County school bus for 43 years. He was a member of Uniontown Church of Christ.
He was born in Wells County to Robert J. and Elsie I. (Hamilton) Young. He married Mary Etta Brindle in September 1946. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, David (Charlene) Young, of Tampa, FL; three daughters, Rene' Schaadt, of Fort Wayne; Shauna (Fred) Getz, of Rockford, OH; and Nancy (Rex) Law, of Roanoke; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Monday, March 31, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill St., Ossian, IN 46777. A funeral service will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
Preferred memorial may be made to Uniontown Church of Christ or the Alzheimer's Association.
