Richard D. 'Dino' Shaw

Richard Deane "Dino" Shaw, 67 of rural Bluffton, IN, and having ties to Huntington, IN, died at Monday, April 14, 2014, at 2:25 a.m. at his home.

Mr. Shaw graduated from Bluffton High School in 1964. He served in the United States Air Force from March 1966 to December 1969. He was a member of American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton.

He worked at Corning Glass in Bluffton for 22 years. He retired from General Motors in Fort Wayne in 2007 after 20 years of service. He attended Etna Avenue Wesleyan Church, in Huntington, for many years.

He was born on June 13, 1946 in Bluffton to Robert and Mary Wenger Shaw. He married Diana Hare on Feb. 4, 1966, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Richard Darin (Amy) Shaw, of Columbus; a daughter, Deana (Kevin) Myers, of Bluffton; and five grandchildren, Kenny Patterson and Kirsten Patterson, both of Bluffton; Keri Myers and Jamie Myers, both of Hicksville, OH; and Eliza Shaw, of Columbus.

A service will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., in Bluffton. Rev. Tom Bradley will officiate. Calling is Wednesday, April 16, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Six Mile Cemetery, in Bluffton, with military honors by American Legion Post 111, of Bluffton, and the United State Air Force Honor Guard.

Memorial gifts may be made to American Cancer Society or to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, in Fort Wayne, through the funeral home.
