Florence A. Swaidner, 97, of Roanoke, IN, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at 3:24 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Swaidner was a 1934 graduate of Lancaster High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Seminary United Methodist Church, in Roanoke, and the United Methodist Women.
She was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Lancaster Township to Walton and Jeanetta Killen Paul. She married Merrill D. Swaidner on Aug. 26, 1939, at her parents' home. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Lynn (Patty) Swaidner, of Roanoke; a daughter, Pam (Jay) Sagers, of Roanoke; a daughter-in-law, Anita Swaidner, of Huntington; three sisters, Ruth (Lewy) Dumbauld, of Phoenix, AZ; Dorothy Coolman, of Detroit, MI; and Doris Conwell, of Indianapolis; a brother Doyle (Jean) Paul, of Andrews; six grandchildren, Tim (Rhonda) Swaidner, Scott (Sandy) Swaidner, David (Bridget) Swaidner, Mike (Melissa) Swaidner, Amy (Jason) Kissel and Kristen (Adam) Bell; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Calling is Saturday, April 19, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a service following at 4 p.m., at the Seminary United Methodist Church. Rev. Jim Tormey and Rev. Dick Bunnell will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
