Vera Jean Embree, 78, of Huntington, IN, and a former resident of Wisconsin, died Friday, April 25, 2014, at 6:50 p.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mrs. Embree graduated from Palmyra High School, in Palmyra, WI. She was a manager of several furniture factories in Wisconsin, Mississippi and Virginia and worked for ARC in Fort Wayne. She also managed the University Club at the University of Oklahoma during the 1980s.
She was born June 28, 1935, in Palmyra, WI, to Edmond and Katherine Mortimer Omdoll. She married Wally Leverenz, and later married Jerry Embree.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail Beach, of Huntington, and Jeanne (Raymond) Malson, of Oklahoma City, OK; a son, Daniel Leverenz, of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren, Chad Beach, Angie Herrera, Jamie Sue Fieser, John Malson and Becky Malson; and four great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, April 30, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a memorial service following at 4 p.m., at Deal-Rice Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 338 E. Washington St., Huntington. Rev. Tom Bradley, of the Etna Avenue Wesleyan Church, will officiate.
