Harold D. 'Tommy' Thompson

Harold Dean "Tommy" Thompson, 85, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at The Heritage of Huntington.
Mr. Thompson graduated in 1946 from Huntington High School. He was a retired machinist and had been employed by Huntington Packing Co., Corning Glass for four years, Yeoman Engineering for two years, the Erie Railroad for 18 years and General Motors in Marion for 17 years. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 333, in Mt. Etna, and served as a cubmaster in Warren.
He was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Huntington to Sherwood and Edna Cramer Thompson. H married Donna M. Kramer on June 11, 1950, at the Church of God, in Huntington, and she survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Robert Wayne (Beth Ann) Thompson, of Majenica; two daughters, Kathryn L. (Corbitt) Beasey, of Roanoke, and Ann Marie (Bill) Elam, of Montpelier; a brother, James (Evelyn) Thompson, of Huntington; a sister, Janet E. Hunnicutt, of Van Buren; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Calling is Friday, May 9, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Doug Sharrard will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Etna Cemetery, Huntington County.
Memorial gifts may be made to Riley Children's Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home.
